F.F.

March 13th, 2009

No, it’s not the one in your mind…, neither FireFox. I was referring to an advocacy to Fight Flu…., got you there :-D

Summer is indeed around with the humidity a little inconvenient. I was watching the late night news last week of February when PAGASA announced the early arrival of summer. But I also find it strange that the weather experts are also expecting occasional rains and at least one  typhoon per month in a supposedly dry season. Weird climate, courtesy of the global warming.

With the climate change, comes not only disruption of the regular weather cycle, but also the adaptation of different micro organisms to it’s new adverse environment. If you’ve seen the film documentary “An Inconvenient Truth”, the possibility of developing new strains of virus was discussed as a result of the warmer earth.  It was kinda alarming….  in fact just this month, some kids of my office mates, and even my daughter was downed by a flu virus. When I visited their school, I was informed that a few more were absent because of flu.

Ready To Rumble (against Flu)

February 4th, 2009

bakunado sa flu

Just like valiant soldiers who are preparing  for battle, so are parents who are looking for the welfare of their kids.

It is expected that as the weather changes from cold to hot ….. and to wet, viral and bacterial infections is not far behind.  A simple flu can lead to life threatening complications that can endanger the lives of your precious ones.

Well, it’s comforting  that medical science has developed vaccines that will at least protect our kids from 85% of flu causing complications. Vaccines are cost efficient compare to hospital bills that may result for neglect of these vaccines.

With the global warming a  reality, new viruses are evolving.  It’s better to take precautionary steps than sorry.  Just as the ancient wisdom says…

When Brother’s Fight

January 9th, 2009

I’m  pre-occupied with current events lately following both international and local news. The international news of interest has something to do with my faith. While the local news have an immediate effect in our part of the world.  Both,  however,  have similarity– that is  sibling rivalry.

The War On Gaza

What the world is witnessing right now is fight among brothers. Both Jews and Arabs have one father, Abraham. Both believe in one God, both received the fulfillment of the blessings of Abraham and became a  great nation. But the rivalry between the Arabs  (sons of  Ishmael) and the Jews (sons of Jacob) dates back from the ancient times.

Eventually, peace will be achieved temporarily during, what Christians call “tribulation”, courtesy of the false redeemer.  Because Israel is tired of war and desperate for peace and security, they will be lured into entering an agreement with it’s neighbors. The Jews will enjoy 3 1/2 years of tranquility, but after this reprieve,  anti-antisemitism will increase hundredfold and this false peacemaker will lead in the persecution and destruction of  Israel.  Before this will ever happen,  somehow, I don’t know how this is possible, the old temple of  Solomon will be built in its original location. Incidentally, this is the same site revered by the Muslims.

Yet Another Stress Management Tip

November 3rd, 2008

You have no idea how stressed I was today because of some office bloopers. I came home tired… and closed to being discouraged.

I was browsing my phone trying to find sleep only to find some of my kids clips when they were playing with my phone. This one made me smile. Maybe the characters involve were my kids, but the genuine fun they had and the creative juices that flow washed my burdens away.
