Last Sunday, we witnessed live via pay per view the Dream Match between Dela Hoya and Pacquiao with our butts and back lie comfortably in a theater seating. Poverty violates every human rights there is.

If you are poor and seriously sick, going to a private hospital is not an option. Try going to a public hospital and if you’re lucky, they will give you the run around.

I happen to know how two patients in need of immediate medical attention, whose guardians were asked to sign a waiver, before turning them away for lack of available room. I heard one of the 2 patients died before reaching another hospital. [...]

David Diaz, the lightweight champ was knocked down by Manny Pacquiao on 9th round. This was a great day for Filipinos and Asians as a whole. He is the first Asian to win 4 titles in 4 different weight divisions.

It’s (political) rally season again in the Philippines, as various groups call for the President to step down from office due to the alleged kickback and overpriced national broadband network (NBN) deal with Chinese corporation, ZTE. Some friends have asked what is my take on the issue? And I replied with this question.

While Metro Manila is expecting the effects of super typhoons Mitag and Hagibis, an unexpected tremor jolted Manila and the northern part of Luzon. The epicenter was believed to be at Pangasinan province.

This is the third blast, that affected greater Manila area, in two months. We have Glorietta 2, Sorrento Bacoor, and what transpired last night, the south wing of the Philippines House of Representatives. Per newspaper account, a Congressman from Mindanao, Wahab Akbar, was one of the 3 fatalities.
