I’m pre-occupied with current events lately following both international and local news. The international news of interest has something to do with my faith. While the local news have an immediate effect in our part of the world. Both, however, have similarity– that is sibling rivalry.
The War On Gaza
What the world is witnessing right now is fight among brothers. Both Jews and Arabs have one father, Abraham. Both believe in one God, both received the fulfillment of the blessings of Abraham and became a great nation. But the rivalry between the Arabs (sons of Ishmael) and the Jews (sons of Jacob) dates back from the ancient times.
Eventually, peace will be achieved temporarily during, what Christians call “tribulation”, courtesy of the false redeemer. Because Israel is tired of war and desperate for peace and security, they will be lured into entering an agreement with it’s neighbors. The Jews will enjoy 3 1/2 years of tranquility, but after this reprieve, anti-antisemitism will increase hundredfold and this false peacemaker will lead in the persecution and destruction of Israel. Before this will ever happen, somehow, I don’t know how this is possible, the old temple of Solomon will be built in its original location. Incidentally, this is the same site revered by the Muslims.

Last Sunday, we witnessed live via pay per view the Dream Match between Dela Hoya and Pacquiao with our butts and back lie comfortably in a theater seating. And we saw how the dream match became a nightmare for the Golden Boy as the Pacman skillfully reduced the height and reach advantage of the legendary fighter to pieces.
Unfortunately, some suggested that the fight was rigged. I was checking my email when I came accross a thread lambasting Dela Hoya for not giving a decent fight, but fell short of accusing the Pacquiao camp of involvement. I lost a lunch because I routed for Dela Hoya, though I wanted Manny to win.
But should we rob Manny the recognition he deserved for winning lopsidedly because the other fighter fell short of the expectation?

Poverty violates every human rights there is.
If you are poor and seriously sick, going to a private hospital is not an option. Try going to a public hospital and if you’re lucky, they will give you the run around.

Video Clip of the 9th round knock out HERE
~o~
Update 11:55 AM:
David Diaz, the lightweight champ was knocked down by Manny Pacquiao on 9th round. This was a great day for Filipinos and Asians as a whole. He is the first Asian to win 4 titles in 4 different weight divisions.
The PacMan is precise on his moves, unlike his last bout with Juan Manuel Marquez. He is dominant from the first round. He made a punching bag out of the champion who was badly beaten with cuts and bruises all over his face.
David Diaz, however, is a tough nut to crack. He absorbed all the power punches of Manny and traded blows as well. Not until the 9th round that his bulky body can’t withdstand the beatings anymore. It was lights out as he goes down with closed eyes. He was lying flat on the floor for a long time. I even thought he would not wake up.
Manny ‘The PacMan” Pacquiao made all of us Filipinos proud. Indeed, he is the best pound for pound fighter. He is right on track for his “drive for five” goal. His next aim is to conquer the 140 lb. division.
Mabuhay and Pilipinas.
