Get Hired Not Fired For Blogging

Last week, I got a call and email from strangers.

One head hunter who got hold of my contact details thru this blog sent an email and requested for a comprehensive copy of my CV. An executive requirement of another company fits my credentials, according to the sender. I declined the request with due respect to my present employer.

On the other hand, an officer of a company employing 1000 employees called and invited me to facilitate a  Substance Abuse orientation for a fee. The guy Googled “drug abuse” and ended up in  the Drug Abuse series of this blog. Though this is an earning opportunity, I also declined since activities are not intertwined and policies and procedures on the item is not yet in place. Read the rest of this entry »

It’s Not Goodbye

Today is my last day as a Human Resource Manager from my employer of 10 years.

It was a rewarding and challenging career, I joined the company on 1998 as Training Officer. I was assigned in a center at QC and handled the in-house training programs and employee activities. Likewise, I’m part of the group that conceptualize and develop company wide corporate training programs. After about a year, we were  moved to the newly renovated and expanded training center to focus on developing company wide programs.

Since I intend to learn the different silos of people management, I requested to be transferred as an HR Officer. In the process, I was given promotion to be Human Resource Manager of an affiliate company. Six months after, I was confirmed to the position.
