Mission/Vision
This site is the depository of my thoughts as a believer of Jesus Christ, a husband and father of two kids, a Filipino living in the Philippines, as Assistant Vice President in the field of People Management (Human Resources) and as enthusiast of web 2.0/ blogging. Excerpts and useful informations freely circulating the net may also find its place in this blog.
The mission of this site is to add value by posting “personal” learnings on career and corporate life, work life balance, leadership and management, geek matters, the interesting life in the Philippines, and my experiences as a customer. The contents of this blog is primarily intended for my children, who may need my counsel and thoughts in the future.
But visitors around the world are welcome. Wordpress enthusiasts, bloggers, parents, managers, entrepreneurs and professionals can find value on my musings. Their contribution on the discussion will add more value to readers.
History
About two years ago, having observed and experienced the dynamics of corporate politics and power play, the obstacles facing young professionals and entrepreneurs, and the choices they made, the blogger started a yahoo group with the purpose of exchanging positive messages to encourage each other in traversing the corporate jungle. A fellow moderator introduced the concept of blog and cross+roads, hosted at blogspot, finds it’s place in the blogosphere. Lacking knowledge on css, html and other geek stuffs, the blog did not reach its full potential.
Afterwards, an e-friend introduced this blogger to Multiply. Thus, Solomon’s Kiosk was born. This blog is more personal in nature as it served as platform of this blogger to share pictures, music and other stuffs. Multiply is much easier to customize and this blogger gained some knowledge on css and html.
Wordpress.com was discovered by this blogger, and out of curiosity, started Sonnie’s Porch. With the growing number of readers from the blogs, this blogger planned to have his own domain and began to window shop. The 2nd Blog Summit held at U.P. provided an opportunity for this blogger to further explore the Philippine Blogosphere. There, he became aware of the .com.ph campaign thru the blog of Angelo. He submitted Sonnie’s Porch for evaluation hoping it can be a recipient of the free .com.ph domain.
Not long after that, Sonnie’s Porch transferred to its new home, from http://skopun.wordpress.com, it moved to http://sesantos.com.ph . Since June of 2006, Enthropia Philippines, sponsored the domain with Ploghost partnered for the hosting.
Inspiration
Inspired by the ancient wisdom embraced by the likes of King Solomon, issues on leadership and management, human capital, personal effectiveness, relationships, health, life, national issues and God are explored to align in our modern situation and urban lifestyle.
“Treasure WISDOM and it will make you great; hold on to it and it will bring you honor.” — Prov. 4:8 (NCV)
