Loyalty

February 16th, 2009

Loyalty

It’s supposed to be a season where job is a rare commodity, but I received a call from a headhunter requesting for my updated CV. Her client is a flourishing company, despite the present crisis, and in need of someone to head their HR dep’t. The budget is rather tempting, so before I put myself in a complex situation, I decided to politely pass the opportunity.

I have seen people change employers as often as they change their underwear, in the name of money. While this is not necessarily wrong, I am not comfortable with it for several reasons:

Ready To Rumble (against Flu)

February 4th, 2009

bakunado sa flu

Just like valiant soldiers who are preparing  for battle, so are parents who are looking for the welfare of their kids.

It is expected that as the weather changes from cold to hot ….. and to wet, viral and bacterial infections is not far behind.  A simple flu can lead to life threatening complications that can endanger the lives of your precious ones.

Well, it’s comforting  that medical science has developed vaccines that will at least protect our kids from 85% of flu causing complications. Vaccines are cost efficient compare to hospital bills that may result for neglect of these vaccines.

With the global warming a  reality, new viruses are evolving.  It’s better to take precautionary steps than sorry.  Just as the ancient wisdom says…

Recession Proof Lifestyle

January 21st, 2009

Allow me to share with you the teaching of Dr. David Sumrall of Cathedral of Praise on January 18, 2009. This is with the assumption that the Christian is a regular tither.

1. Commit to daiIy devotion

Job 8:13-18 13 Such is the destiny of all who forget God; so perishes the hope of the godless. 14 What he trusts in is fragile [a] ;what he relies on is a spider’s web. 15 He leans on his web, but it gives way; he clings to it, but it does not hold. 16 He is like a well-watered plant in the sunshine, spreading its shoots over the garden; 17 it entwines its roots around a pile of rocks and looks for a place among the stones. 18 But when it is torn from its spot, that place disowns it and says, ‘I never saw you.’

2. Commit to regular  Church attendance and serve God

Neh 13:14- Remember me for this, O my God, and do not blot out what I have so faithfully done for the house of my God and its services.

3.   Commit to hard work

Prov. 10:4- Lazy hands make a man poor, but diligent hands bring wealth.

4.   Commit to a righteous life
Ps 92:12- The righteous will flourish like a palm tree, they will grow like a cedar of Lebanon;
Ps 58:9
- Before your pots can feel the heat of the thorns— whether they be green or dry—the wicked will be swept away.

What Went Wrong.. What Went Right

November 21st, 2008

business-plan2008 is set to end in less than 2 months, this is the best time to look back and reflect, and  plan for next year.

If business organizations are doing this, specially in anticipation of the effects of the financial meltdown of world markets and recession of major economies, there is no reason why this can’t be done on a personal level, right?
