I am hesitant to discuss this, weary that I may embarrass the people involved. I’ll be sharing 2 stories where people help others “in their network”, who are in dire need. But, I will twist the story a little bit so the people concerned will not be identified.
Story # 1:
This blog, Sonnie Side Up, is (still) part of Entrecard community because of the marketing opportunity it provided and the relationship it built with other blogs. There’s this blogger normally active and engaging became unusually silent or inactive for a while. We send private messages and email but it was unanswered until we received news that 2 members of his family were hospitalized and in serious condition. This blogger was recently retrenched from work and turned to blogging to make a living. As other bloggers in the community came to know of the situation, each one extended a hand. Some visited them to show and give support, others send their help via pay pal and still others, send help via western union.

A few Sunday’s back, instead of the usual scenario where I follow up my kids to bring their tithes to the Lord, they proudly came to me prepared.
I have been instilling to my children the value of tithing and how this should be handled.
A tithe is giving back to the Lord the 10% of your earning as a sign of respect. It’s not about the amount, rather the act of worship.

Those earning much work hard to pay the mortgage of their house and car, education of their kids and savings for their retirement. Ordinary laborers, on the other hand, work hard just to survive. Both, however, can be trapped for good in the corporate rat race unless they strive to be financially free.
How do you know if you are financially free?

Early today, I met with agents of a bank to dicuss their financial products, from dividends enhanced life insurance, education and pension plan. We also discussed a little of their Pre Need product since this industry is fighting for survival. I’m not sure, though, if they also carry travel health insurance.
Though, I find most of their products enticing, my objective is to get the best proposal for the retirement plan of the company.
It made me think though, whether this is the best time buy a plan, and invest.
