My apologies since it’s been a while since I had my last update on this blog. I need to figure out which blog should receive what content 0.0
BTW, I opened 2 more sites, the 1st is the home page for my company, yay! I just registered http://wsph.biz as the virtual home of my plaything, WSPH Training and Consultancy Services. And the other one is http://windowsphoneph.com for my Windows Phone Pilipinas blog. Since I am a Windows Phone 7 user, I thought it is best to create a blog of the “next big thing” before it becomes the “big thing”, he he. Soon, I will have a blog at Yahoo! too, whew!
Actually this is my dilema- which update should go to what blog, lols. Well this blog should not be a problem since any personal notes and musings belong here. But between WSPH & Business Values 2.0, and Web Safety PH and the future Yahoo blog, it will be a challenge, good luck to me.

Lots had happened since my last update, God has been gracious. After the season finale of Spiritual Intelligence season 2, so many opportunities had opened up. For the 5th time, Ariva was gracious to have me as one of the featured speaker for their conventions, the last one is the 4th Annual Summit of Executive Secretaries where I discussed the “Tech Savvy Secretary”. We also successfully held the 2nd Run of HR 2.o v.2011 at Crown Regency Hotel Makati. We were invited also to be one of the resource person of Unang Hirit on Cyber Wellness. I guess the most important update that I would like to share is what God is doing in my heart. I am going thru some pruning experience with the Lord that made me re-think of my strategies, and how I intend to help other people in the area of Marketing. If you have been following me for a while, you would notice that I have slowed down with my online activities. Yeah, I need to find value in what I have been doing for a while. I searched my heart and asked, what would I get from all of these? Will it bring me closer to my purpose in life? By helping others market themselves or their brands, am I collaborating with them in creating an illusion or lie?
Please don’t get me wrong, I still believe on social web as online tool for biz, and personal growth. But personal branding and marketing builds a perception, what IF the perception being created is only an illusion? Half truth? Exaggerated? Target specific?
I am moving away from maybe a marketing pitfall called “perception”. Marketing is being taught as the ability to create perceptions, and perceptions are truth. With that, there is a thin line now separating marketing from lies. And another thin line separating “the meeting of a need” from “manipulating a want”.
There is so much the Lord is working in my heart, I am praying that I can respond humbly and learn the lesson. Allow me to close this blog post with this passage:
Unless the LORD builds the house, its builders labor in vain Psalms 127:1
Yes, marketing, traditional or digital, can build a brand, personal or corporate. It can even give an illusion of success. But unless the Lord builds the brand, soon everything will fall a part.
Opportunities, recognition, prestige and whatever that comes to the mind of a person seeking recognition or prestige [this is not bad per se, ha], can also be found in the Lord, minus the stress of creating a “perception”.
Go ahead, try it
Well said po.. Kuya Sonnie,
” Yes, marketing, traditional or digital, can build a brand, personal or corporate. It can even give an illusion of success. But unless the Lord builds the brand, soon everything will fall a part. ”
We as soldiers of God should only market what is clean and good for everybody. And I agree that there is really a thin line separating marketing from a lie. All we need to know is when to stop when we already step on that thin line.
I agree with your statement that “there is a thin line now separating marketing from lies”. The same can be said probably for every human activity that is not done according to God’s purposes. I admire you for pausing to consider “what God is doing in my heart”.
I agree. This is a nice article much things to learn out of it. Thank you for sharing.
