iBlog7: Don’t Miss This Annual Blogging Event

March 1, 2011 · by Sonnie · Advocacy, Announcement

Update 3/31/11: Tomorrow is iBlog7, if you are attending, kindly read “why advocate for internet safety” because this will serve as the intro to my presentation. I will go straight to the main points due to time constraints.

Whenever appropriate,  I  share with people that I am a 2nd generation blogger, and when  asked  how did I know that? My reply was … because of “iBlog“.

I started blogging around 2005 but I never knew there was an annual blogging event being held at UP. I missed the maiden summit but have been part of the yearly event since iBlog2. On the 2006 edition, I came to know  Janette Toral,  Abe Olandres of Yugatech, Angelo Racoma those that we now consider  the forefathers of “blogging”.  It was also thru iBlog2 when I submitted my wordpress.com blog to Angelo and Andre of Enthropia Philippines for consideration, and was subsequently awarded my  .com.ph domain [THIS BLOG]. To  date, this domain is being paid for by Enthropia [the group behind use.com.ph] and the hosting expense  were shared by Enthropia and Yuga’s Ploghost.

When asked  [mostly by participants of my Online Reputation Management seminar] why they should start blogging in an era dominated by Facebook and Twitter? My response, as always, is “smart use of social web can add value to you [your career or business], then site my personal experience:

Now all the lessons learned and the benefits reaped by different bloggers are  being shared in this yearly summit. I believe, these are enough reasons why you should not miss iBlog7 =).

iBlog is cool!

iBlog is one of the most anticipated annual blogging events. It’s organized by the UP College of Law and they’re helped by DigitalFilipino’s Janette Toral.
