What is My Sandbox?

My Sandbox, a brain child of SMART Comm., is  another social networking site like facebook, multiply and friendster.   Unlike the other social networking site,  My Sandbox is also an online content store where you can buy music and games. Apart from this, it  promotes mobile blogging where sharing of photos and videos are made easier. Of course, access to mobile blogging is via the  SMART platform. But purchase of online content is made easier because you can charge it either to your  pre paid or post paid subscription with SMART.

My Sandbox Experience

I was one of the bloggers  given access to the site prior to the launch, and I would say My Sandbox is “loaded”. It does give you the usual SNS services and more, but expect a little inconvenience as you adjust with it’s navigation.

The Promise

I’ve been a SMART subscriber since I first owned a mobile phone (Nokia 3310).  And I know this company is constantly evolving and improving. So the kinks that you may experience, will definitely be addressed. While it does give you the same experience as the other popular SNSes, it is more dynamic.  It runs promos and raffle for it’s users, and unlike the other SNSes, My Sandbox will give you the opportunity to earn in advertising courtesy of Blog Bank.

A few of what I think they should look at :

1. Ability to update the “status” thru Ping.fm or other micro blogging sites.
2. Increase space for video uploads.
3. Ability to synchronize My Sandbox to my blog .
4. Widgets to promote my Sandbox Profile to my blog
5. Section to share/promote links.
6. To access the site via mobile for free except purchase of content.
