I am following with interest the unfortunate incident that befell Ted Failon and his family.
Daily, on my way to work, I am listening to his and Korina’s radio program “Tambalang Failon at Sanchez” at DZMM. And I must say he is a no nonsense broadcaster who is against corruption and gov’t abuses. With his conviction and political stand, it’s safe to say that he is not a fan of the present administration.
Then came the incident involving the death of his wife, suicide or murder, it is still non conclusive at this time.
I was shocked to hear the initial report that the wife was allegedly shot by Ted Failon while arguing inside their car, and that Failon tried to keep the incident from the public.

At first I thought, there is double standard. When non media people is involve in a crime, public interest is given more weight and privacy is the last thing in their mind. But as things slowly unfold, my sympathy goes to Ted. Thanks to ABS CBN for shaping public opinion and the QC Police apparent disregard to the circumstances and sensitive situation at hand.
I totally agree that there should be a thorough investigation of the alleged crime and no special treatment should be accorded Failon, but equally important is respect for human dignity and observance of compassion, specially in a situation like this. What is obvious is the zeal of the QC police on this case, and people can’t help but speculate that police has an ax to grind against Failon. Ted is known for his criticism of the police’s failure to curb carnapping incidents in QC.
My condolences to the family of Ted Failon, may you be united in this difficult time and may the strength of the Lord be upon you and your two daughters.
