Is He Running Or Not?

December 13, 2008 · by Sonnie · Pilipinas

It was a privilege to be included on the guest list of a  Senator who hosted a  Christmas party for friends and supporters alike. Though this is not the place where I hope to win sports gifts, I attended the party to network with professionals and meet personalities in media, business and politics.

I saw my idol, former Senate President Jovy Salonga who was instrumental in expelling the US Military base in the Philippines, and former Comelec Chairman Christian Monsod. The Comelec had the highest approval and confidence rating under his tutelage. I also saw politicians that I less like, like Franklyn Drilon.

The venue is overflowing with food and wine, and music is great.

This Senator has been identified as one of the presidentiables, though he has not confirmed his political ambitions (yet), the writings on the wall is quite obvious.

I first hear this person speak his brain (& heart) out when he was the key note speaker of PMAP, and when he was the secretary for trade and industry. He’s spontaneous but speaks with great confidence.

He is intelligent and admirable. But he is in for a tough fight.
