The Choice Of Leadership
The world almost stop as it watch history unfold at uncle Sam’s backyard.
By now, it’s evident who the new US President would be. As there are cheers of celebration, others are also sorrowed by defeat.
From the voters point of view
- The most important issue is the one closest to their stomach– economy.
- Idealism/youth is preferred over experience and age.
- Affiliation with an unpopular regime also played a big factor.
- War is stupid.
The world looks forward to the new cabinet, it also awaits policy changes on several fronts– terrorism, foreign relations, economy, among many others.
Here in our part of the world, local politicians are expected to emulate the winning strategy for their own purpose come 2010.
Well, this is democracy at work.
But I wonder if the situation is corporate in nature, not political, would the bases be the same?

I’m looking forward that the war in Iraq will stop and that not only the U.S would benefit from this new president in position, but as well as the other smaller countries like Philippines who have always been nicely treated by the U.S or should I say most of the time nicely treated.

We hope that the newly elected president will do something in the economic crisis that world is facing now.
Yes, Obama won with a great margin. Let’s just hope for the best. But I like the point – War is stupid.
Barrack needs all the support and prayers. With his victory, great expectations come. If those are not met, the US (and maybe the world) could be in a worse situation.

That’s a recipe for disaster. Our tough economic times need a strong, steady hand with experience and courage to handle difficult decisions. I wonder if Obama has that, considering he’s a neophyte senator.
I hope that Obama will succeed in uniting all Americans and solving its economic woes. But stopping the war in Iraq right now is a bad decision. If we stop the war in Iraq, Al-Qaeda will be stronger than ever. There should be a timetable for withdrawing troops, or else Iraq will become another Vietnam.
