Protecting The Woman Of Your Life

In a blogger dinner/forum at Hotel Peninsula, we are privileged to be given insight about Cervical Cancer, the # 2 cause of death among women in the Philippines and perhaps the world.

Since I am not an authority on the subject matter, I have attached dfferent medium to understand Cervical Cancer and HPV (Human Papilloma Virus), the virus responsible for Cervical Cancer.

Good diet, personal hygiene and sexual behavior of both the woman and her partner play a major role in the prevention of acquiring HPV. Not all HPV lead to cervical cancer, but HPV will lead to recurring genital warts and other genital infection. HPV can affect men too, and in some cases, it also led to penal cancer.

In the Philippines, compare to Breast Cancer, this is not commonly talked about because of conservatism, leading to late detection and more deaths. Thru this advocacy, we hope to educate men and women alike the importance of prevention and early detection.

For details, you can download the following fact sheets:

  1. HPV (Human Papilloma Virus)
  2. Cervical Cancer
