Video Clip of the 9th round knock out HERE

Update 11:55 AM:
David Diaz, the lightweight champ was knocked down by Manny Pacquiao on 9th round. This was a great day for Filipinos and Asians as a whole. He is the first Asian to win 4 titles in 4 different weight divisions.
The PacMan is precise on his moves, unlike his last bout with Juan Manuel Marquez. He is dominant from the first round. He made a punching bag out of the champion who was badly beaten with cuts and bruises all over his face.
David Diaz, however, is a tough nut to crack. He absorbed all the power punches of Manny and traded blows as well. Not until the 9th round that his bulky body can’t withdstand the beatings anymore. It was lights out as he goes down with closed eyes. He was lying flat on the floor for a long time. I even thought he would not wake up.
Manny ‘The PacMan” Pacquiao made all of us Filipinos proud. Indeed, he is the best pound for pound fighter. He is right on track for his “drive for five” goal. His next aim is to conquer the 140 lb. division.
Mabuhay and Pilipinas.

Update 6/29/08 7:04 AM, Manila time: Wary of David Diaz slow start but strong finish, it appears Manny Pacquiao’s battle plan is “attack agad!” (attack at once).

Nope, this is not the official result yet. This headline is something that we, all PacMan fans, Filipinos or not, would like to read and hear. Two more days and we’ll know whether Manny Pacquiao can beat David Diaz and become the first Asian to hold 4 titles in 4 different divisions. This will also put him on the right track for his “drive for five” goal. As usual, I will troop to a nearest Theater where I can watch the “Lethal Combination” bout in the big screen, live.
Until then, we just have to do what we normally do. Blog, relax or slow down a bit since it’s weekend anyway, and spend precious time with your family. Speaking of blogs, I just came home from a bloggers event sponsored by Coke and Taste Asia at Mall of Asia. What a great time to unwind, enjoy great food, free flowing drinks, games and lot’s of give aways too. It was a time again for bloggers from Manila to meet off line and establish connections in real life. Sorry, I got no pics because am busy socializing. Thanks to Coke and SM Hypermarket.
