Independence Day At Mall Of Asia
I got the chance to attend the independence day flag raising event at SM Mall of Asia. A short but meaningful ceremony, a great reminder to thank the Philippines for the respect for freedom and civil liberties. Here we can blog without the fear of censure or imprisonment. Here, we can express our religious inclination without the fear of being persecuted. We are also free to move around, curse the gov’t., and so on and so forth.
This is my prayer, though, for independence day: I hope one day, we can break free from economic and military dependence. We are a rich nation believing we are poor. May the good Lord raise good leaders in all fronts to get our acts together, though a responsible nation in a global community, we can stand up against foreign abusers/manipulators.
