Time To Remember The Sacrifice
My parents slept in our place last night after attending church. Partly because it rained hard in a supposed to be summer month, ohhh, crazy climate change. Early this morning, wifey went early to a nearby market to buy heart friendly food for everyone, specially for my mom who is on maintenance medication for BP and cholesterol. After an early lunch, my boy and I drove our parents back to their place and he saw me hand over some cash to my mother. On our way home, he asked how much I gave and why.
I took the chance to explain to him that aside from mother’s day, it is only proper to gift our parents with lots of love, expressed in different ways. I shared with him also that his grandparents sacrificed a lot for me and my 3 siblings when we are still young. And given the means, I will give more to them. Motherhood is an expensive job without salary, and treating mothers like a COO or President of a corporation is only proper. Yes they are not perfect, but they are still our mother.
Afterwards, we stopped by in a mall to buy wifey a cake as our mother’s day present.
Happy Mother’s Day to all moms!
