EntreCard Surprise
What a pleasant weekend surprise!
Sonnie’s Porch, at EntreCard (EC), is now at the top of its category for 2 consecutive days. EC has become a major source of traffic for this blog. After the regular rss and email subscribers, EC and search engine referrals are slugging it out on #2 and #3 position.
Not all are happy with EC because of it’s contribution to the high bounce rate brought about by mad dropping. While I recognize the problem, there are specific actions , though, to address this. In fact, developing a long term blog relationships is happening among regular droppers with the substantial increase of comments and discussions on blog posts.
Because of EC, however, this blog has been stumbled several times. So is the increase of twitter followers, and my bloglog and blog catalog buddies. The most important contribution of EC, perhaps, is with the increase of exposure, came also the increase of clicks in my ads.
The credit and advertising scheme is working well for this blog. The credits I earn thru advertisements, are more than enough to advertise to other blogs, plus a lot of leftovers for prospective buyers. At the moment, I have 5,000 credits for my disposal but still with enough credits left for advertising campaign.
My strategy is to advertise in new and emerging blogs than the expensive ones. I would rather have this blog gain more exposure and clicks in different market and niche though there is the risk of not earning drops and new credits because the readers are not into EC yet.

Oddly enough, I came here via entrecard, clicking and decided to read your post. I am new to EC and this post was quite enlightening as to the possibilities of the EC system.

Sonny, great post about EC. I’m seeing that this is a really common observation more and more, and being new to EC myself, what was once a freakin’ great idea is now evolving into a decent one haha. I haven’t checked my Analytics in the past two days, so now that I’ve had way more EC-related traffic, I’m sort of scared.
And I made sure not to bounce, and make use of your monetization on your blog.

Congrats on topping your category, sir sonnie! You certainly deserve it. I guess there are others in there that should not be in that category. Maybe they are just capitalizing on the fewer number of sites listed in that category. They may have found it easier to make it in the top three, which usually get more exposure.
