Brand Management And Market Analysis

Let’s blog about brand management and the instinct of an entrepreneur for a while.

Since the year 2000, there is resurgence on the interest towards Apple products.

Apple is the one that introduced a personal computer to feature a mouse and a graphical user interface in contrast to an earlier generation that only has a command line interface. Though the entry of Microsoft almost wiped out Apple, the latter innovated with the introduction of iMac. Today, Apple is not only known in personal computing, but they successfully introduced electronic gadgets embraced by consumers like iPod and iPhone.

Because of the popularity of Apple products, a new market emerged as switchers and practical consumers are looking for 2nd hand Apple computers or used Mac. One can do a Google or Yahoo! search on 2nd hand Macs and it will lead you to several sites like personal blogs, forum and one stop e-shops like DV Warehouse, Inc.

Founded in 2001 DV Warehouse, Inc. based in Southern California, was envisioned to be a one stop shop for Broadcasters & Editors from the Entertainment Industry. According to the company’s about page,

DV Warehouse strives to make itself the ultimate destination for computers and production gear with a wide selection at warehouse prices. DV Warehouse now serves over thousands of customers everyday and is among one of the most-visited websites in the world.

Since DV Warehouse recognized the growing market of Apple products, they dedicated two pages for Apple, one for used Macs and another for Apple Products. The company would like to fulfill the need within the Apple community for a single source for used Macs and Macintosh computers. Please visit their website at http://www.dvwarehouse.com and check if they walk their talk.

Now these are the lessons that aspiring entrepreneurs and brand managers should conider,

  1. A company like Apple, who may have pioneered a product will not necessarily guarantee continued success. A company must always reinvent and recreate, otherwise, the competition will throw them out of business.
  2. Likewise, an entrepreneur should continue to look at his market, like DV Warehouse, and determine their need (2nd hand Mac products). Provide for that need and let the market know that you got what you want.
