Because I personally believe that blogs develop the writing skill and creativity of kids, I shared in one of my earlier posts that I encouraged my children– 10 and 8 years old, boy and girl, to start blogging. Though their blogs, at this point, are protected until they learn not to divulge too much personal and identifiable information, each maintain a blog at wordpress.com. Eventually, I will buy domains for their name and have it hosted with a best web hosting service that is affordable and reliable.

Our daughter, Elgene, surprised us during the lenten break when she wrote a fictional story. She wrote her thoughts initially in a scratch notebook, and later typed it in her blog. She wrote this in English, not her natural language. And though imperfect, it made me pop up but at the same time amazed because I never thought that parenting and raising kids is this fun and serious. Need to pray more to ensure that we’ll hone our kids to be the kind of person God wants them to be. At this stage, my little girl is into arts, and my boy is into computers.

This may not mean to anyone, but below is the exact entry of my girl’s “first story”. And darling by copying your post, I wan’t you to know that I’m proud of you and your brother.

ONE DAY,THERE IS A TEAM CREW NAMED THE CHARACTERS OF THE MICKEY MOUSE CLUB HOUSE(but only mickey is include) ALSO IN THE JOLLIBEE (french fries and sundae).THEY WANT TO TRAVEL IN DIFFERENT PLACE BY USING A BOAT.BUT IT’S STORMY SO MICKEY FELL OFF THE BOAT.THEN MICKEY FINALLY FOUND AN ISLAND. SOMEHOW MICKEY COULD STAY THEIR IN 3 DAYS.BUT HE’S 2 CREW MATE WAS WORRIED ABOUT HIM.THEN THE CREW FINALLY FOUND A STAIRWAY SO THEY STOP AND CHECK OUT IF MICKEY IS THERE.THEN WHEN THEY FINALLY GOT UP THEY SAW TWEETY BIRD.THEY ASKED TWEETY BIRD :WHERE IS THE ANOTHER WAY AROUND HERE?

BUT TWEETY ANSWERED:THERE IN THAT CAVE.

THEY ANSWERED TWEETY:THANK YOU TWEETY.

THEN THEY FOUND A SKELETON.THEN THEY SEE ANOTHER MEDIUM CAVE AGAIN.THEY DON’T KNOW THAT IS THE MONSTER’S HOUSE .THEY FOUND CRYSTAL.THEN THEY GET THE CRYSTALS WHILE THE MONSTER IS SLEEPING. THEY THOUGHT THAT CRYSTALS THEY GOT IS NOT FAKE.THEN THEY SAILED AWAY.THEY FOUND THE ISLAND WHERE MICKEY IS.BUT THEY DON’T KNOW THAT MICKEY IS THERE.THEN THEY GO TO THE JUNGLE THEY ALREADY MEET MICKEY.NOW THEY KNOW THAT MICKEY IS THERE.THEN THEY ALSO SAID TO MICKEY:WE FOUND CRYSTALS.THEN MICKEY ANSWERED:UM GUYS THAT’S FAKE. THEY ANSWERED: REALLY? MICKEY ANSWERED : YES ,REALLY. WHY?

THEY ANSWERED : UH NOTHING. MICKEY:OK,LOOK I FOUND A MAP IT SAYS:GO TO THE ISLAND THAT FLOWS AND FLOWS BUT WORRY IT MIGHT GROW.THAT MEANS:GO TO THE ISLAND HAS THE REAL TREASURE OR YOU’LL FIND YOUR WAY HOME. COME ON!LET’S SAIL. THEY SHOUTED:ALL RIGHT! BUT THEY SAILED 2 DAYS.ONE MORNING THEY SAW THAT THEY CRASHED ON A BIG ROCK.

MICKEY ANSWERED:MAYBE THIS IS THE REAL TREASURE.IT SAYS HERE AT THE MAP. THE 2 ANSWERED:WELL OK LET’S CHECK IT OUT.THEY ALREADY OPENED THE ROCK. THEN THEY ARE RIGHT THAT’S THE REAL TREASURE.THEN THEY FINALLY FIND THE WAY BACK HOME.THEN THEY LIVED HAPPILY EVER AFTER
