Welcome Home Champ!

Immediately after Pacquiao was announced winner via split decision, majority of Filipinos savor the triumph. Unfortunately, the victory also became saddles of controversy and intrigue. A handful of fans also thought Marquez was the better shooter of the bout.

Though I also thought the dinamita was better than pacman, after watching the bout 2 more times, I concluded it was indeed a very close fight. It could have gone either way. Pacquiao came out with his best, surprised though of the efficiency of Marquez’ battle plan. But because he made Marquez kissed the deck on the 3rd round and dominated several rounds too, 2 of the three judges gave it to him.

Now it’s time to celebrate with Manny, the guy gave his best out. He should not be treated as villain for failing to dispose of the adversary the way we want to. He may have not knocked the lights out of Marquez but he fought gallantly and he won. He is the first Filipino and Asian to become champ of three weight divisions, it’s no ordinary feat dude. Manny is set to arrive on Monday, it’s time to party.

Welcome home Manny and Congratulations!

Marquez did perform better than Pacquiao but Pacquiao never let up. He was the aggressor and I guess the judges gave him credit for that.

    Hi Melo,

It’s unfortunate that because we are used to seeing Manny knocked his opponents out, and when he failed to do so, we think he lose :-(

It’s not about Manny knocking out Manuel it’s just that Manuel actually did performed better and won more rounds. He landed more clear blows although Manny threw more punches. It was a really close fight but what saved Manny was the knockdown at the third round and his never say die spirit. The judges saw that and gave him the split decision win.
