Gain Some, Lose Some
The blogosphere was filled again by ramblings caused by the recent PR update. More blogs either got a flat “0″ or their PR dropped. As I said on my previous post, a blogger has to make a choice whether to please G or earn other than Adsense, as long as you keep and run an ethical blog.
But more than the earning potential, bloggers has to evaluate what added value does a PR bring to a site, improved SERP? I read somewhere, though, that PR is independent of SERP.
This blog had just turned 3 yesterday, and looking back, I gained some, like more pageviews and Alexa ranking is up to 183, 620 from a miserable 500, +++. And perhaps lost some too. Am not sure if my PR is down from 5 to 3 since different PR checkers yield conflicting results. Technorati as well, is not registering the correct reactions and authority.
Anyway, in life, you can not have everything. Each one of us must choose our own path and pursue what we think is right and beneficial.
In your opinion, do you think a high PR rating is worth pursuing and why?

just this morning Google returned half of my PR (leftover thoughts is back to PR2, from 4 to 0). I’m pursuing a higher PR for my new blog.
