This is another proof that web 2.0 is not about to fade out anytime soon.I came across, thoughts.com, another social networking service that can rival the services offered by Friendster or Multiply, among others. Thoughts.com allow it’s members to create a blog, share photos, videos, podcast, news and anything that interests them. Here is an excerpt from their about page:
We are a 100% free online blog community with added features that you won’t find on other blog sites including unlimited bandwidth, photo, video and podcast sharing, community forums and live news discussions. We started www.thoughts.com as a place for people to share their thoughts. It has quickly developed into an online community of bloggers world wide.
As a matter of bragging right, thoughts.com set themselves apart by offering unlimited free space and a rating system where each member can participate in blog forums and rate other member’s participation. The member with a highest rating can win an all expense paid trip to a pre-determined location. 2007 place of choice was Las Vegas. With the growing number of people getting into social networking services, we can expect tough competition among the different providers. Of course, those who came first gets the lion share of the market, but new ones need to be creative to attract more users to switch to them, or at the very least, try their services.Competition is good for e-commerce, and netizens like us.
