Spock

March 8, 2008 · by Sonnie · Ask Sonnie, eProductivity, Technology

Am not sure if I’m a late bloomer, but I just explored Spock.com – the best for people search. I tried to search for my name and the result yielded my profile at both professional and social networks.

Professional Networks

It’s good that it captured my profile at LinkedIn. Headhunters, are turning to online professional networks to get prospective clients, referrals and candidates for their human resource requirement. However, it failed to index my bio at ezine (articles), profile in my own domain and important reviews and interviews about me and my passion.

Social Networks

It was able to capture my profiles at Multiply, Friendster, Twitter and Digg. Of these, I am only most active in Twitter and Multiply. I am connected to other social networks, unfortunately, it was not indexed.

Spock appears to have the potential to become a preferred social network tool because it can bring under one page the profile of a person. However, this depends on the capability of it’s search engine to index extensively. HR professionals can also use this as tool to background check a person or person’s work. Headhunters, though, may still depend on LinkedIn.

Have you tried Spock? How do you find it?

  1. I wonder if this is the reason a headhunter sent a message to me thru my friendster profile? Hmmm.

Jon Limjap’s last blog post..Is Cebu Pacific hoodwinking its passengers into their empty flights?

  2. HI Jon,

    Same here.

Headhunters became wiser. They source their prospective clients online, not necessarily from the traditional sources.
