New Year Celebration at Chilly Baguio

We just arrived from a 6 hour drive from Baguio.

We welcomed 2008 away from home to take advantage of the long break, and to give our kids, 10 and 8, a taste of a mountain experience. Thanks to our friends, we were able to get last minute reservation despite the high volume of local and foreign tourists.

We have an uninterrupted 72 hours bonding time the moment we hit the road. Though tired, kids enjoyed the scenery and I have to pull over several times at certain locations to explain the significance of the place and for photo ops.

Interestingly, while my daughter was enjoying a horse back ride, 2 visiting South Koreans requested to have a photo taken with her. Monica and Yang are here for 3 months to study English language. They seemed to be enjoying their stay in the Philippines, we treated them both to a horse back ride experience with my kids, and encouraged them to visit Boracay as well.

We find this a value adding experience but “bitin”. Though it’s suppose to be back to work tomorrow, I am still on “vacation mode” .

  1. Happy New Year, sir! I’m sure you did enjoy your Baguio vacation. I’ve never been to the place. But I’ll go there one of these days.

  2. Yup, we’re looking forward to a longer stay next time around.

  3. Do visit Baguio, specially the coldest month (January). It’s worth it, been there for the “nth” time.
