Trillanes Strikes Again

6:31 PM: Media personnel who stayed inside the hotel were also arrested.

6:18 PM: Perpetrators of the mutiny now under gov’t. hands, have boarded the police bus that will take them for custody and questioning.

6:13 PM:

Former VP Guingona left the 2nd floor and now at the holding area. Bus that will take the suspects away readied.

5:45 PM:

Sen. Trillanes and company can’t leave the hotel yet as tear gas still hangs in the air.

5:21 PM:

We are live on CNN, Al Jazeera, BBC News as Sen. Trillanes and Gen. Lim hints they will give up to avoid violence.

5:11 PM:

We are in the middle of e-productivity conference when we were sent home by the organizer. Am closely watching the dev’t. on tv. The special actions group of the gov’t have stormed the lobby of the Peninsula Hote and a simba tank was forced inside the hotel lobby.

As of this writing, the drama at Peninsula Hotel, Makati City, is not yet over. A senator of the republic, Sen. Trillanes, with a military general, General Lim, a former Vice President, Teofisto Guingona, Magdalo soldiers and individuals disgruntled against the Arroyo gov’t are holed up at the second floor of the Peninsula Hotel.

Sen Trillanes walked out of from his court hearing earlier and marched towards the high end hotel. They withdrew support for President Arroyo. They also called on the people to go to Makati and support them.

Though the event had no effect on the financial trading and the foreign exchange rate yet, we do not know what value this unfortunate incident will bring to the nation.
