Explosion At Bacoor

The explosion was so loud that people thought SM City Bacoor was bombed.

After verifying with my staff, the explosion was reportedly so loud that it was heard even inside the SM Mall. Customers initially panicked thinking it was related to the Glorietta 2 explosion.

As of this writing, 2 4 3 were confirmed dead, six houses were destroyed and scores were wounded. The explosion occurred inside a village at Bacoor, Cavite. Investigators are still determining the cause of the blast. After the Glorietta 2 experience, news like this is not value adding to the economy and peace and security.

Update: 4 3 were confirmed dead, 10 12 injured. The blast was thought to be caused by “dynamites”, used for illegal fishing, stored in the house . The explosion occurred inside Sorrento Subdivision, in the village of Panapaan 4. A private low cost housing project.

i live in bacoor too, near Sorrento and SM Bacoor. fortunately i was at work so i didnt witness or hear the explosion. My titas said it was really loud that they thought too SM was bombed.

Ohh. it’s good to hear you and your love ones are OK. We have so many bad news lately.

The house I live in was one of those damaged by the explosion.I am out of the country right now… I cannot describe how it feels knowing that I will be coming home to a pile of rubble. I am very thankful however, that none of family members were severely injured due to this unfortunate incident. My maids, who were both at home when the explosion occured, had the presence of mind to duck under the bed when they heard the blast. Lucky for them because a few seconds later, the roof caved in, burying our 7-year old housecat, Cuppy. Our maids had to crawl out of the house with 3 dogs in tow. Our maids, are both traumatized by the incident. I hope that the police will soon be able to apprehend everyone involved in that dynamite production group that caused the loss of lives and damage to property.

Hi Cuppy,

Though it will cost money, rebuilding your damage/collapsed house is better that burying a love one. It may not be easy, but you can still earn back the money.

But the those responsible for this should be brought to justice

dear sonnie,

you are absolutely right. thank you for reminding me that damage to property is nothing compared to the loss of life. i am very thankful that my family is safe. i guess God has bigger plans for us. we just need to have faith.

It was surreal!

I lived where it happened just a few phase away, at first i thought it was mother fallin outta bed-again- but the house shook so hard that i had to run upstairs screamin her name. And as soon as i got there only the blast from outta the window creating thick gray smoke in the sky & flying debris from a distance caught my eye…hours later it really got me all thinking how close of a call that was.

Ps: Ur ‘value adding blog’ idea sounds really interesting. I’ll start creating today!

Thank you Khaye. I hope you will support the ADD VALUE advocacy

i was in my work when i heard that mother fucking blast in sorrento!
