Sonnie’s Porch, A Notch Higher (PR 5)

This site has it’s own share of woes.

Sonnie’s Porch used to have 2 Page Rankings, 4 for sesantos.com.ph and 2 for www.sesantos.com.ph , until Jaypee pointed me to enforce www. preference plugin to arrest this.

Though I don’t know what triggered the huge decline, my feedburner subscription dropped from 89 to 18, thus affecting my ratified.org standings as well. To make matters worse, my technorati authority dropped also from 142 to 86 and has not moved since. I’ve sent SOS to technorati already and inquired what wrong could I have done.

All I did was change the theme (nothing wrong with the blg.txt theme, I just thought this site need a bath and a new look), turned off most of the plugins and changed the old embed technorsti code to a new one. Then the metrics came tumbling down.

Though e-mail subscription is still on the rise, as well as the return visits, referral from search engines and other sites, and the daily traffic.

What made me extra happy the other day, in the middle of the woes I discussed, is the email I received that Sonnie’s Porch was promoted a notch higher with a Page Rank of 5. Both for www.sesantos.com.ph and sesantos.com.ph .

Not that I am too conscious of the performance metrics, but it’s an indicator if your site is value adding.

Someone help me, please, understand what happened to my feedburner and technorati metrics. :-(

Post Script: Apparently, as Google updates the PR, blogs were affected both ways. Please read along to get a grasp of what’s going on:

  2. Yugatech
  3. Jozzua
  4. Macuha
  5. A Mothers Horizon

Thanks for the tip, Sonnie.

You’re welcome buddy.

Congratulations on improving to PR5! You deserve it. Btw, I’m glad that the enforce www thing helped you. More power and God bless! :)
Jaypee’s last blog post..Google Feedfetcher Had A Hangover

Thank you.

You’re correct that eventually, PR of both domains will eventually even out. But I was expecting that it’ll only equalize. PR 5 is a bonus indeed!
