A Day Of Dilemma And Appreciation

DILEMMA ON CHOOSING CANDIDATES

Once again, we’ll troop to the voting precincts tomorrow to exercise our right to chose 12 senators and local officials. And I am in dilemma– I may not be able to complete the 12 slots.

Am no fan of GMA but neither the opposition.
I can not fathom a group accusing a pointing finger of corruption while they also belong to a group that was once ousted for alleged corruption. Much worse, most, if not all of these are the same people who either supported or worked for the ouster of the former President!

On my watch list are the kapatiran candidates and some indies (because of their principled stance). I will also vote for 1 GO candidate who, during the time of EDSA 2, chose not to appear publicly to declare his withdrawal of support from ERAP. Instead, because of the popular anti ERAP stand that time, he quietly resigned from his post (if it was not forced on him at gun point). I will chose also of principled people on the TU ticket. I’m considering also another GO candidate who is soft spoken but known for his anti-administration/ fiscalizer stance.

On the local front, am not sold out to vote the young Atienza yet because on his father’s term, pedicabs plying on national and city roads prolifirate (BAD). But the alleged platform of the camp of Lim, aside from putting up new hospitals, is to “undo” whatever was done by the Atienza group (that beautifies Manila and successfully put Manila in the tourist map and generate jobs). Maybe, if elected, Lim will initiate an investigation to look for anomalies on the beautification projects and cultural revival initiated by Atienza. Ohh well, I guess I will have to just endure the pedicabs on the roads, lesser evil, I suppose?

APPRECIATION ON MY BLOG

It felt good to be appreciated. I have been receiving off line messages appreciating my effort and intentions on this blog, specially the series on “How To Lose Your Job”. The intention of this series is to guide entrepreneurs how to weed their organization of the “pasaways” the proper way, and at the same time educate employees of their rights and the parameters governing security of tenure and due process of law. Either way, I hoped this shall add value to readers.

This series is far from over, I first thought this will end after 3-4 posts but the more I think about it, the series may turn out to be longer than I expected. Those who missed the previous posts, may check these links:

  1. Hi Sonnie,

I think the worst thing that could happen right now is for Lito Lapid to win over Jejomar Binay at Makati. That would really spell hell-on-earth.

  2. Ok, the fiscalizer is Escudero, right? I hate his education policy. Tsk tsk. Basura.

The lone GO candidate is… wow. I have no idea. Lacson?

    Hehe.

  3. @ Wauks– despite of the corruption charges, Binay is loved because of what he did.

@ Benj– LOL, you’ve got it dude!

  4. I believe that politics around the world have something in common;the polititicians who want to be leaders out of selfish political ambitions and those who are ready to serve the people they represent by indentifying with their problem and coming up with long term solutions. They have a down to earth atitude. They are leaders with a teachable spirit. They are always in close contact with the public and are available when needed. They have a good reputation.Vote for the one who has such a character and i believe you won’t regret on your decision!!!

  5. Election has always been about choosing the lesser evil. Somehow, never since I’ve become conscious of politics that I saw a right vs wrong fight. Pretty saddening. Actually, really depressing.

You deserve the appreciation you’re getting, of course. I’ve actually enjoyed reading your how to lose your job series, haha. :)

  6. depressing alright, but hopefully the youth and the likes of the kapatiran party will change the face of Philippine politics
