The Drama Has Ended?

My heart goes with the parents of the kids, imagine the agony for 10 hours. And I am equally at a loss as to the intentions of the hostage taker, Mr. Jun Ducat.
And what about his demands? Did he indeed risked his life for the future of the kids? Will this serve as wakeup call to Pinoys who may be in denial of the socio economic and political reality? Or will it inspire others to do their own version of hostage taking?
I may not agree with his “too much” out of the box idea, but he succeeded in getting the attention not only of the nation, but of the world.
In your opinion, what’s next after this unfortunate incident? Will it bring the much needed reforms to reduce hunger, generate more jobs, more investments on health and education?

As one of those who covered this - I called it more of a circus than a crisis.
It was obvious from the outset - to most - that this event had strong political tones from the start -
While I miust credit - WPD, MPD, and the City Hall detachment for not just going and shooting the hostage takers.
I also have to give credit to people like Bong, Chavit, and all the others whose presence kept this situation from ending on a worse reprt.
I must admit - reporting the events from here to Fox News live as they were putting the pin back in the grenade- and - he surrendered - was dramatic.
It could have gone any way - I must admit.
Gov. Signson and all those at the door of the bus who helped end this deserve praise.
Also I’m sure helping were prayers of people watching across the globe.
Considering its my birthday today- I must admit my present came early - being able for once to report a happy ending - is a stroy I’ll take any day

@ Sally– no matter how good the intentions are, the end does not justify the means. But sometimes, society also need a good shot in the arms.
@ Mike– being on the front seat as the events unfold is indeed the best. At the end of the day, its good that nothing worse could have happened. A happy ending as the world watch.

hi, sonnie.
nothing, i repeat, nothing can justify the trauma that those poor kids, parents and teachers had undergone in the hands of jun ducat. that man clearly has a psychological problem.
i wonder if he had perhaps succeeded in showing the rest of the world that some people here actually turn cuckoo crazy from being socioeconomically deprived. well, he DID grab attention, that’s for sure.
