Integrity in this field is the corner stone of the business. But. Medical professionals being (dirty!!) humans, many a time overlook this fact and try to create cocoons around themselves so that they are un-affected by their own lack of Integrity. Still, the world goes on! and these creatures (once revered) continue make hay while their sun shines! I work for a Healthcare Service organization. I manage quality assurance and test software for a living. Often, I have to explain to upper management that Project X cannot be delivered on time because of serious issues that will be to the detriment of our client. It's a moral dilemma to me when I get basically asked to bury "unfavourable data - i.e. serious bugs" that would delay delivery. In the end, this approach usually bites the company back in the ass --- NO one ever remembers that a product was delivered on time, but PEOPLE DO REMEMBER that a product was a piece of crap, always.
