Another Speak And Surf FeedBack

update (12/17/07):

because of difficulty making and connecting calls, and slow internet connections, I finally returned my SnS and discontinued my subscription effective today. A promising product that can’t take off because of frequency limitations.

As promised by the technical people of Globe, the internet connection stabilized on Jan. 15, 07. I think Globe’s internet service was badly damaged by the Taiwan earthquake. But I am becoming frustrated with the speed, though. It takes a long while to upload a podcast file (mp3).

The telephone service also improved. Since I requested a replacement of the unit, both the signal and reception became stable. The line is crisp clear and no longer choppy. I think my old unit got screwed.

Am still satisfied with its performance but I may subscribe to a broadband after I upgrade my PC.

i tought im the only one experiencing these problems with sns…

the management should waive the termination fee in case their subscribers applied for its termination… the problem is with them and not on the subscribers.

its not because im in a low signaled area because im bringing this modem at work and im getting the same quality.

i will try to email them and il give u some feedback..

I have been complaining regarding the SNS service in my area for more than half of my subscription… all they tell me is that they are monitoring the situation and doing updates! three months! ilan engineers nila?

it is so frustrating, eto ako bayad ng bayd sila nmn wlang improvment. so much for consumer rights! they even offered to waive ung pre-termination fee but when i followed it up, hindi pa daw na-foforward…

sobrand walang kwenta pa customer service nila… favorite excuse right now is network daw inaayos, so wala ka na habol. pero the same network charges you monthly!

btw, for your speak and surf concerns, you can forward it to ccad@ntc.gov.ph to Engr. Edgardo Cabarios, Director of the NTC-CCDA

I just discovered that The modem exesstel is not compatible to any router available at the IT stores ha ha ha!! ang sabi pa ng CS ng globe hindi po yan nakadezigned para idaan ang SnS sa router at magdistribute ng connection kahit sa dalwang pc lng!! How come???
Help nmn po!!! may paraan ba na magamit ko ang router sa SnS1..Or i have to terminate my subscription and switch to other ISPs

My connection somehow improved a bit and I am getting about 40kb max DL speed but still the up speed is soooooooo slow… 6kbps! I am subscriced more than three months na for SNS1 but still I haven’t got any bill or whatsoever. I even got an automated call that states my balance due. Pati ung bill nahihirapan cla magdeliver.

Sabi pa pag d ko nabayaran on a certain due date, maddeactivate ung account ko. Guess what, hanggang ngaun d parin nadidisconnect. Don’t know if it’s a good thing though, pero bulok ang service nila. Ang bagal nila trumabaho….

Not sure if this is applicable to Globe. When you have complains, report it to their helpdesk and make sure you recieve a ticket/case number for your issue. When paying bills you can request for a rebate of your downtime…

    Hope this info helps…

Just want to know if Speak N Surf is good enough just for calling? I dont intend to use it for internet because I already have Visibility.

    Thanks
    Jonas

  8. October 1st, 2007 at 12:02 | #8

    Hi Jonas,

It depends on your area, have it checked by their technician. Mine started well, but have been experiencing frequent signal problems and drop calls.

Does anybody know how to configure a VPN client using the axesstel modem of SnS? I can’t seem to get through our company’s VPN server. I tested my laptop to connect to our VPN server using other ISP and it connects with no problem but I try it at home with SnS it just won’t work.
    cheers!

What a relief I’m pretty glad to know that I am not alone with my Speak n’ Surf problem. I am about to burst out in disappointment. I consider the time I subscribed the Innove promo is one of the worst decision I made in my life. I just came from one of their customer service outlet to terminate my subscription They said it would cost me about P3,000 if I did. I don’t have that enough money so I asked them what shall I do to speed up my internet even just a little bit. They suggested that I used a coax cable to make it a little more faster.just wanna ask if is this really effective?

    November 21st, 2007 at 09:13 | #12

option 1: when did you apply? check the contract, the days you are allowed to return the unit without termination fee.
option 2: coax? you mean your going to make an external antenna? it might cost you also ask around first how much it would cost.
option 3: kiss you money goodbye! mwa mwa mwa, that how their service is. instead of fixing the problem they remind(threat) you with termination fee.
option 4: shift to other dsl, it might be cheaper than to pay innove with their kind of service.

speak and surf experiences high static and intermittent disturbance of voice calls specially during storms and rains. even in sunny weather, signal is weak. this is despite having an external coaxial cable antenna, similar to the ones used in cable tv but slightly thinner. the signal was very clear when their hard-sell agents tested it here in binondo. i wonder if they adjusted something in their signal during the preliminary offering period. internet speed is around 200+ kbps download and 40+ kbps upload tested from bandwidthplace.net.

    November 27th, 2007 at 09:26 | #15

having speak n surf was a nightmare… from start until i finally decided to terminate the service. speed never went pass 116Kbps… Ad is misleading! there are days that i dont have internet connection. Phone was promising but sometimes in the middle of conversation you get cut because you lose the “signal”. On top of that there is this irritating beep on the phone. thier customer service is really worse. i have to give instruction to them when they are suppose to be doing it for me. so after having a straight week or so of no internet… i finally called it quits. if you want some peace.. dont subscribe.. but if you’re a risk taker.. Globe speak and surf might be the best option for you.

  16. November 27th, 2007 at 10:29 | #16

    @ Zee– LOL :-D
How much did you pay for the termination of your contract?

  17. maytel
    November 27th, 2007 at 10:46 | #17

    just return it.
i returned it last week after waiting for 6 months for them to fulfill their promises.
i even have an external antenna (which costs 2k, not the kind that is used in tv) that is used primarilly in communications radio i also had the frequency matched to the unit.
so its not about external antenna its their signal.

note! my download speed is ok (100+) but upload speed is a terrible 8, ive told them and they have all kinds of excuses… they just wont accept it.

if your having problem, just return it.

    my rating to globe

KISS (Keep It Short and Simple) = 0pts
i was misinformed(lied), ive attended a seminar hosted by globe they told me i have to pay 1 yr for the unit, but i was charged for 2 years

MY (Make Your cutomer say MY “your product name”) = 0pts
*i cant even recommend it to others

ASS (After Sales Service) = 0pts
*the problem was not addressed after 6 months!!!
    *i only got excuses

*no offense here KISS MY ASS is an acronym in marketing.

  20. maytel.mynt
    January 2nd, 2008 at 17:45 | #20

pero ang nakakatawa i can only download but upload is very slow
kahit 1kb na text file would take minutes. connection is very intermetent.

if you’re having problem right now return it immediately dont wait
they wont fix it(based on my experience)

  21. January 7th, 2008 at 09:41 | #21

The problem, according to the tech people is the radio frequency they have. It’s not sufficient that’s why they intend to buy the radio frequency allowed for Bayantel. But sine Bayantel launched their own product, the problem of SnS was not resolved.

sonnie you asked how much did i pay for termination… NOT A CENT! when i returned the unit i returned everything.. the manuals, the plastic bags they used to wrap… and i gave them a lenghty letter of request as well with an itemized list of my complaints.they sent me however two billing statements which i did not pay anymore.. why should i?

i think i had the worst experiences from SnS. I applied from a road agent last May 2007 saying it will be a 3 day activation, so I immediately pay the required P999 and waited for the “3day” promise. a week passed, so i decided to follow up. they have the most lame excuse ever, but i ended up calling and following everyday. inisan na lang ba! Ako nainis, the last time I followed up was June 21, CSR said my application was declined coz I LACK FINANCIAL DOCUMENT?!?!?!?! i told myself the heck with P999..kunyari na lang naholdap ako.

Kalbaryo is just beginning. August 7, 2007, I received a billing statement from Innove, saying I have a 2 MONTHS OVERDUE??? i called CSR and said my service has been active since June 22, 2007 …what the $%@#!! Since then to this time I have been calling CSR and been goin to their Bus. center to clear my questionable bill..

Dec 31 - Mar 11, I have no internet connection, and it will be a miracle for me if i will receive a call.. I dont have incoming call!!! for almost 3 months and internet connection is either as CSR are saying: due to system restoration, or my area is not feasible, modem has been damage, phone is damage etc etc blablabla…they advised me to go 3G and OMG if i was pregnant, my son already has beard but up to this time still no feedback from them pa ren…

i commend them for one thing, the only expedited request they fulfilled is the activation of my IDD! halleluia, its a miracle or is because they will benefit from them..AHHH long distance calls… Goodluck to us!!

INDEED, mabilis ang service for a new subscription!

OUR handsets are DEAD, batteries are busted! We have been calling the CSRs for 2 months now, our secretary even visited the globe mall offices, and we still don’t have any unit replacement!

Dial ups are faster than the surfing speed!

    Bills still keep pouring it.
    TOTAL WASTE OF HARD-EARNED MONEY!

    Hi everyone! I’m back!

I just want to update everyone about my SnS2 connection. After about a month or two of unstable connection, now I am satisfied with it and my connection turned really good for the last 10 months! First, if you back read my previous posts, I was very regretful bakit di pa ko nag smart bro. Now, its my turn to give high fives to Globe. For me, stable na ang connection ko and even using my laptop via wireless and my desktop via LAN at the same time using a Linksys wireless router. Sulit yung binabayad kong 1,300 per month and my next billing will be the last 1,300 billing then down to 995/month na lang ako. I’ve finally finished the lease on the landline phone.

Now, am planing to upgrade my speed to a wired 1Mbps data service (512Kbps current) + landline pa rin (1,300/month din, fixed). However am still waiting for their reply if there are service facilities available for my area. Hope I can get one!

To Globe people, thanks! and keep on improving!

Please help me… naka lock sa 2 yrs contract ko, the reason i replied here is i have the same problem as u guyz but i think its more than that. 1 year na yung unit sa akin 1 month ko lang nagamit which is the first month i subscribed from the said SNS service. up to now im not paying anything but i keep on complaining every month about it and nothing seems to help me, no techs , even CS dept. now my bill is 16,000++ na. Is there any way for me to report this to any person or company?

I wont pay for a service i was not able to use.

They told me they already deducted kaya ngayon 9k na lang bill ko, i explained it to them further na 1 month ko lang nagamit yung service. bakit meron pa akong 9000 na utang. ieescalate na lang daw nila sa credit dept. nila tawag na lang daw ako sa susunod na billing.

what a pain in the ass talaga.
