speak and surf post xangsane performance

update (12/17/07):

because of difficulty making and connecting calls, and slow internet connections, I finally returned my SnS and discontinued my subscription effective today. A promising product that can’t take off because of frequency limitations.

By the time xangsane (milenyo) is done with Metro, the whole city is without power. Affected utilities also are supply of water, internet connection, cellphone and land lines.

Even PLDT’s services were affected knocking out phone services in some areas. Having subscribed to Speak and Surf, I was worried that services will also be affected because Globe signal (on cell phones) also went out in some areas. However, to my surprise, speak and surf signal is stable. I even brought it at our office since landline is down up to Monday (10/2).

On the internet signal, immediately when power was restored (9/30), am back net surfing and the signal was stable. The speed? Better than dial up but the promised speed of 256 is not met.
