Why I Believe On God (2)
Still tired and recovering from the aftermath of my milenyo or Xangsane experience, my family went to Cathedral of Praise to worship. Our soul was refreshed and attitudes amplified. The chorus of one of the songs still ring to my ears: “When the oceans rise and thunders roar I will soar with you above the storm I read one blog entry questioning the creator for allowing the typhoon to hit Metro. In coffee conversations, I heard people attributing the typhoon as an act of God. But is it? John 10:10 James 1:17 The inconvenience of a power less, internet less, cellphone less, water less, situation may have tweaked our attitudes– specially those that suffered death or injury, damage or loss of property. Our human mind will find it difficult to understand. The story of Job (Old Testament) will provide answer to the “why’s” we throw to the Creator. We spent the rest of the day refreshed. In no way we are adding insult to the loss and damage of other people, but we are thankful that my family is safe, my car is not wrecked, no billboards or tress fell on me. I may not understand why there is pain and suffering… but I still believe God is good…
Father you are King over the floods I will be still knowing you are God “
True indeed, year in and year out, typhoons will come and go. Furthermore, the Philippines is not only seated in the regular path of typhoons, but in the ring of fire wherein the island is prone to volcanic eruptions and earthquake. Should this situation change our principles and value system?
The thief (devil) comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I (the Force) have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.
Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.

[…] Thank God the earthquake is not as strong as the one that wreck havoc to the same areas 17 years ago. I believe people, like me, who experienced the deadly earthquake on 1990, brought back memories of destruction, fear, death, pain, suffering, volunteerism and heroism. From the U.S. Geological Survey website […]
