The Wild

A few weeks back, my family went out and watched “the wild”. This is the first movie that I heard my 6 year old daughter laughing so loud. However, since my 8 year old boy is seating beside me, he has to endure my “live” commentaries, using every good scene, to mentor and inject values. This could be the reason why he requested to watch the film all over again. LOL. This is a great value adding movie, you may want to buy yourself a dvd copy.

Speaking of values, the film can be a good tool to coach adults– Learning from the realization of both the father lion, (is it Sammy?) and his cub (Ryan) that they are the rulers of the jungle whether they grew in the city (zoo) or in the wilds. Having faced a difficult situation, they searched deep inside and discovered their real worth.

Having said this, it’s sad to see people not living to their potential and true nature. They allowed their environment– social status, education and place of birth, to define their identity and self worth. Much worse, other man contributed to their degrading.

The psalmist song keeps ringing in my ear

what is man that you are mindful of him, the son of man that you care for him? Psalm 8:4

Though people may choose not to be the son or daughter of God, they are still created in HIS image. Thus, all have the same potential to

1. Be creative
2. Lead.
3. Rule.
4. Produce wealth from the work of his hand
5. Genuinely love and build people.
